Buckland's Complete Book Of Witchcraft - Raymond Buckland
16/02/2014 18:23This is a must have book for new wiccans or advanced wiccans that want to brush up on their knowledge.
The lessons start from the beginning when wicca/witchcraft first started, each lesson has questions for you to answer and an exam for you to take and also gives you a reading list at the end of each lesson to expand your learning.
This book covers all aspects of wicca and is a good learning tool for you newbie's out there to the more experienced wiccans who just want a refresher.
Raymond Buckland has written a lot of books on the subject including Wtichcraft From the Inside, Gypsy Witchcraft and Magic, Color Magick.
After studying British Traditional Witchcraft and receiving initiation from Gerald Gardner (the father of modern witchcraft) Raymond brought wicca to the United States. He has become a respected authority on the rise of modern witchcraft in the twentieth century, he is also of Romani (Gypsy) heritage.
Here are some of the reviews of his book Buckland's Complete Book Of Witchcraft:
"I read Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft with much pleasure; so many books on this subject are casual or trivialize the whole subjuect...this book contains enough information and know-how for all approaches; the historical, the philosophical, and the pragmatic..[it] reaches the subject from all sides, including how (and why) to get into it, from the beginning to the advanced student...it's probably going to (and should) displace most of the previous books i've seen on the subject...quite entertaining, as much for the armchair enthusiast as fro the practicing occultist." - Marion Zimmer Bradley, author of The Mists of Avelon.
"Never in the history of the Craft has a single book educated as many people, spurred as many spiritual paths, or conjured as much personal possibility as Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft. More than just a treasured classic, it is the one book that no seeker should ever be without" - Dorothy Morrison, author of The Craft.
"This classic text is the most complete self-study course in modern wicca available, this revised and expanded edition included additional photographs and illustrations, a new preface, and an index. The revised workbook format now includes exam questions at the end of each lesson, building a permanent record of your spiritual and magical training" - Raymond Buckland.

History Of Wicca
Hi there Guys I am introducing Wicca to you newbie’s and any Wiccans out there that would like to refresh their knowledge.
Let’s look back at the history of Wicca where it all started “The Burning Times” most of the men and women who were persecuted were not witches they either upset the wrong person or unmarred pregnant women.
They were subjected to violent torture to get them to confess that they were witches, some of them did confess even though they were not practicing magick, some of them were put to a series of tests one of which is by submerging them under water, if the victim survived they were indeed witches and then burned at the stake for their crime.
These men and women and sometimes children were persecuted by the Witch Hunters Heinrich Kramer and Jacob Sprenge, they started an account of all they did in the Malleus Maleficarum which documented the torturing for confessions out of reluctant victims and later would become the standard witch-hunters handbook for centuries.
You can read all about the persecutions in a book written by Nigel Cawthorne – Witches History Of A Persecutions, you can purchase this book in the products section.

Review - True Magic A Beginners Guide - Amber K
09/11/2013 16:30Hi their, the book review this month is on True Magic A Beginners Guide by Amber K, this is one of my first books I ever brought when I started Wicca and they surely meant it in the title "a beginners guide" it covers every base in wicca and more, anyone starting wicca, then this is the book to read first, Amber covers everything from what is wicca/magic to spellcraft, I still use it for resources and was well worth buying.
One of the most well respected authors Raymond Buckland commented "Amber K, an experienced practioner of magick, here presents a delightful how to book on the subject, her easy going syle makes it a pleasure to read, yet she covers all the neccessary aspects. She deals mainly with a wiccan type magic yet draws many parallels with other forms such as Amerindian-shamanism, Huna, Brujeria and Qabalism. This is an excellent primer that I have no hesitation in recommending"
Amber has not only targeted newbies but also people who have been practicing wiccan for years.

Introduction
03/11/2013 18:28Hi my name is wiccarose and I have been following the path of wicca for a long time now and found it hard looking through the internet looking in how to start, what was best for me, I am telling you it was information overload so I thought I would share my experiences and hopefully able to guide any newbie’s out there and make it a little bit easier for them.
I stumbled across wicca by accident like most people I thought that it was all made up by TV and film companies, anyway my daughter and I loved to watch Charmed together we both loved the show, my daughter came home from school one day and said “hey mum Charmed have a website can we check it out please” so we went on their web page and it was pretty amazing not only did they have pictures but they had the original scripts for the episodes that they had done. So we notice some buttons at the top of the page like character reviews, pictures and a shop where you could by memorabilia from the show, cool right but then my daughter noticed a button marked book of shadows so we clicked on this button and expected to be directed to the Halliwell book of shadow like the one on TV but no it actually re-directed us to real people doing real magic.
My daughter got bored and went off and left me their reading these pages, I could not believe it there are people out there doing magic, so I started researching and researching until my head was going to burst with all this different information that I had found, there were a few scam artists out there who were just out there to make money but as I found out you cannot put a price on true wicca, some wiccan schools do charge a nominal onetime fee but that is just to cover cost for upkeep of the sites and text book that you can download and is usually a onetime fee.
So I thought to myself how can I pass on what I have learned to you newbie’s out there so I decided to do a series of video’s and blogs to help new wiccans to find their way.
Next time I will be doing a monthly book review of the very first book I ever brought and to this day still use as a valuable source of information, so I will see you then.
